Lateral Pay:
Qualified Candidates from comparable fire departments with similar or higher call volumes may request to be hired at a higher Firefighter pay plan step, equivalent to their current wages. To be eligible for lateral pay, applicants must include a current pay stub from their department that lists their base hourly pay rate, and documentation such as an annual report showing their current department’s call volume. If the applicant is selected for a job offer through the hiring process, the Fire Chief will determine what pay grade they will be offered, and include this information in the conditional job offer.
