You will serve as a LEAD FIREFIGHTER (BASIC LIFE SUPPORT/HAZARDOUS MATERIALS TECHNICIAN) in the FIRE AND EMERGENCY SERVICES DIVISION of NAVAL BASE VENTURA COUNTY.Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Detecting fire hazards (potential and immediate) and determining corrective action; 2) Providing emergency assistance (first aid, HAZMAT, etc.) in accordance with safety standards and regulations; 3) Driving firefighting vehicles and operating basic and specialized firefighting equipment such as fire alarm systems and fire extinguishing equipment; and 4) Leading a crew of firefighters (i.e. directing drills, assigning work, etc.
This position requires the incumbent to possess the following certifications for this position: Firefighter I and II, Fire Officer I, Fire Instructor I, Fire Inspector I, Hazardous Materials Incident Commander, and National Registry Emergency Medical Technician (NREMT) certification. These certifications must have been awarded by DoD, IFSAC or ProBoard to meet the requirement. If you do not possess all of the above certifications and you have not attached a copy of your transcript or certifications, you will be rated ineligible.
