You will serve as a FIRE PROTECTION SPECIALIST in the FIRE & EMERGENCY SERVICES DEPARTMENT of NAVSTA GREAT LAKES IL.
For GS-11:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-10 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Providing assistance, advice, and/or recommendations concerning emergency medical service matters at all levels of commands within the area where emergency medical services are provided; 2) Responsible for the oversight at all districts for the emergency medical service programs; 3) Implementing and/or recommending policies, procedures, and/or operating standards for the program; 4) Developing programs to improve and/or maintain emergency medical system services within the department's area of responsibility; 5) Acts as a consultant to management and operating personnel, providing advice and/or guidance on emergency medical service care, system delivery and on the interpretation and application of policies, regulations and directives relating to emergency medical services. For GS-10:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Developing training for all areas of Fire and Emergency Services (i.e. structural firefighting, shipboard firefighting, aircraft firefighting, wildland firefighting, hazardous materials, and emergency medical care; 2) Serve as the Chief of Training for the fire protection training programs; 3) Evaluating training programs to identify safety deficiencies, implement improvements, and maintain compliance with current policies, regulations, instructions, and standards; and 4) Overseeing a comprehensive firefighter training program including planning, scheduling, coordination of resources, and record maintenance to ensure operational readiness. This position requires the incumbent to possess the following certifications: Firefighter I & II, Fire Officer I & II, Fire Instructor I, Fire Inspector I, Driver Operator Pumper, National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians- EMT, HAZMAT Awareness, HAZMAT Operations, and Hazardous Materials Incident Commander. These certifications must have been awarded by National Registry, DoD, IFSAC or ProBoard to meet the requirement.
