FIREFIGHTER/PARAMEDIC - TOWN OF MEDFIELD

The Town of Medfield is seeking qualified candidates for the position of full-time

firefighter/paramedic. This is an immediate opening.

Minimum Requirements:

Candidates must submit a valid driver's license, EMT cards, CPR card, ACLS card when applying. Preference may be given to candidates who are certified to NFPA 1001 Firefighter I/II. Candidates who are not currently certified Massachusetts Recruit Firefighter I/II will be required to successfully pass and graduate the Massachusetts Fulltime Firefighter Academy Recruit program to continue employment. Preference will be given to candidates who are valid Massachusetts Licensed Paramedics. Candidates who are not currently certified Massachusetts Paramedics will be required to successfully complete a certified Paramedic program and obtain a Massachusetts Paramedic License to continue employment within one year.

The successful candidate must refrain from tobacco use and remain a non-tobacco user. Candidates must be able to pass all pre-employment tests, including but not limited; 1) Physical Agility test (PAT), 2) Pre-employment Physical Screening, 3) Criminal Background Check, and 4) Psychological Exam.

Salary and Additional Items:

Hourly Starting pay: $29.84 -$32.73 per hour

Educational incentives for associate degrees and bachelor’s degrees in fire science, para-medicine, emergency management, and public administration, as well as pro-board certifications.
